Welcare is a family focused charity based on Christian values that is dedicated to helping children and Families over come challenges in their lives and build towards a better future.

Statistics: Full-time Staff 2, Part-time Staff 10, Volunteers 36, Visits for emergency supplies 185, Parents receiving one-to-one support 42, Families (90) children, Parents attending parenting courses 61, Ethnicity groups 20, Families seen at the centre 830, Individual family visits 3694, Visits to Toy Libraries 805, Families at Play link 98, Parents/babies attending Baby Cafe 325, Parents/Children attending Stay and Play 178, VOLUNTEER HOURS DONATED 1604.5.

As well as above, a few other notable events. 19th May 2016 East Surrey Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration Party at Timperley Gardens Scout Hut supported by Timperley Church Redhill. The event saw 150 families, volunteers and supporters attend. The Revd. Jonathan Clark, Bishop of Croydon, and Councillor Joan Spiers, Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, were warmly welcomed to help celebrate the valuable work of Welcare in East Surrey.  A Redhill mother told how Welcare had helped change her life around.  I was fortunate enough to be able to attend and help.  It was an inspiring day!

On 30th September 2016, the Annual Meeting and inaugural Volunteers and Supporters Awards was held at the Blue Fin venue on Southwark Street.  The Bishop of Southwark The Rt. Revd Christopher Chessun Welcare’s President was in attendance to give thanks for the work of Welcare.

On 23rd March 2017, “Breakfast at Timperleys” linked with “Messy Play” was held in the Scout Hut beautifully presented – protein and Fun. 21 Adults and 26 Children.  It was a great success.  An excellent menu was on offer.

Good news: The Revd. Canon Moira Astin, Archdeacon of Redhill and Reigate. will be welcomed as a Trustee of Welcare at the launch of the new Garden Welcare House Wednesday 12th July.

As always, many thanks to St. Mary’s for the support given to Welcare: our help goes towards all the events that are special to the families Welcare looks after.
